Text:  I’ve been using homecuring.co.uk’s Chargrilled Burger Seasoning for a few years now and love it,I have had the opportunity to try out the Chicken/Turkey Burger Mix to see what I think of it.So firstly reading the back of the packet on how to use the mix I was most surprised and a little alarmed to see that you add water to the meat and mix, which seemed unusual and disquieting but trusting the instructions wouldn’t steer me wrong I went ahead. Now I’d like to say that I used supermarket ready minced Turkey leg mince and as such it is sold by the 500g and I always buy 2 and batch make and freeze my burgers, This led me to a slight issue as the instructions are for 800g of mince. But after a bit of maths and I’d like to say that’s not my strong point, I managed to work out the rather simple  ratio. I tore open the packet as it had the handy cut outs and unlike some packaging it actually worked and tore easily without me throwing the mix everywhere, the first thing I noticed was the delightfully chicken like smell and then the dense texture of the powder. I then measured all the necessary components before commencing with the mixing.I got out a very large mixing bowl as I like to mix my burgers by hand, placed the turkey mince then the burger mix into the bowl and mixed thoroughly when the mixture seemed to have absorbed all moisture I added the water.Although trusting in the instructions when I first added the water I panicked slightly as the mixture instantly became liquefied and runny, but I carried on mixing and the mixture soon began to resemble the texture I’m used to when making Burgers.I then weighed and pressed the mixture into patties some of which I popped into freezer bags and froze. Now comes the good bit…I placed the patties under the grill and grilled them for approximately 12-15 minutes turning as needed I prepared the buns and other fillings whilst they cooked and then sat down to eat them.I have to say that the flavour is outstanding the burger mix accentuates all of the flavours of the turkey and to add to that the texture and moistness of the burgers was perfect. If I had to give them a rating it would be 10 out of 10! (But I’ll have to settle for 5 out of 5.
